Many people juggle multiple apps for notes, scheduling, and task management—but what if one app could handle it all? That’s the idea behind Hero, an all-in-one productivity app powered by AI.
Created by former Meta employees Brad Kowalk and Seung W. Lee, Hero streamlines organization with an AI assistant that helps users manage their time more efficiently. Kowalk, who previously worked on AI experiences at Meta, emphasized their goal: “We wanted to build something that helps people save time, not waste it.”
Backed by $4 million in seed funding, Hero has attracted investors like Instacart founder Max Mullen, Dropbox’s Arash Ferdowsi, Adobe’s Scott Belsky, and even musical group The Chainsmokers. Mullen sees Hero as a game-changer, stating, “Many consumer apps will integrate voice AI, but Hero aims to be the one app you need.”
With its smart AI assistant and seamless integration of essential productivity tools, Hero is set to challenge Google Calendar and other productivity apps.
Mullen believes Hero will be valuable for families and friend groups, reducing the need for multiple apps to stay organized.
The app features a unified interface displaying your daily schedule, weather updates, to-do lists, grocery lists, and notes. At the top, an Instagram Stories-style daily brief summarizes your schedule, news updates, and a motivational quote.
Users can add friends, family, or teammates to their calendar to view schedules, share tasks, and collaborate on notes. Those using the app can comment on shared events or to-dos, while non-users receive tasks in a message-friendly format.
Hero’s AI assistant enables quick creation of events, reminders, notes, or grocery items. It also leverages Perplexity AI for answering questions and saving web searches as notes. Additionally, the assistant helps generate lists—for example, by titling a note “Movies like Challengers” and tapping the suggest button to create a new list.
